I saw some stuff on Etsy about “dupe bogg bag” and, honestly, some of those “handmade” versions look kinda…iffy. Like, you’re gambling on whether Aunt Mildred actually knows how to sew or if she’s just slapping some fabric together and hoping for the best. No offense to Aunt Mildreds everywhere, but ya know? Quality matters. I mean, you don’t want the bottom falling out when you’re lugging around a week’s worth of snacks, do ya?
Then there’s the whole “Bogg Bag Dupes” thing – the ones you find at places like Aldo, even Sun Jellies (remember those jelly shoes from when we were kids?!) . These are more like “inspired by” the Bogg Bag, I guess. They have that similar oversized, carryall vibe, perfect for, well, stuff. And at a *way* more palatable price point.
Honestly, I think that’s the route I’d go. Less risk of ending up with a wonky, homemade disaster, and more chance of getting something that’s actually gonna last. Plus, sometimes those bigger brands actually come up with cooler designs than the original! Just sayin’.
But, and this is just me thinking out loud here, isn’t part of the *point* of the Bogg Bag the name recognition? Like, flashing that logo around says, “Hey, I’m organized and I go to the beach…a lot.” A dupe, no matter how good, just doesn’t have the same… cachet, I think is the word.
