First off, you see these adverts, right? “Fake Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Watches for Men in UK – Luxury style, low price!” Blah blah blah. They’re all over the place. WhatsApp this number, get same-day delivery from London… Sounds tempting, I guess, if you’re absolutely desperate to look the part but can’t afford the real deal.
But here’s the thing, and it’s a big BUT: a *genuine* Audemars Piguet, that’s a serious piece of kit. Think about the materials. Solid gold, platinum, the best stainless steel? These things have weight! The text says a genuine AP has weight, and I’m taking their word for it. If you’re holding something that feels like it came out of a Christmas cracker, alarm bells should be ringing, mate.
And they focus on the Royal Oak, obvs. It’s the iconic one, the one everyone recognizes. Makes sense for the counterfeiters, doesn’t it? Easy money.
Now, I’ve seen some… let’s call them “inspired-by” APs. The oscillating weight (that thingy you see through the back) is supposed to be 22-carat pink gold, apparently. Anthracite grey hue? Look, I wouldn’t even know what anthracite grey *is* half the time, let alone be able to tell if it’s correctly hued on a fake. The point is, the real deal is all about the details, the finishes… things a dodgy factory in who-knows-where probably isn’t bothering with. Like “Côtes de Genève, circular graining, sunray finishing”. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? I wouldn’t have a clue how to tell the difference.
Talking about spotting a fake, the first article says that you should be able to tell from the weight of the watch. If the watch is lightweight, then it’s most likely a fake.
Then there’s the whole “Swiss Replica Watches UK online” thing. 70% off! Free shipping! Rolex, Hublot, Omega… all the big names. Sounds too good to be true? Yeah, because it almost definitely is. These are often just… well, rubbish, to be honest. You might get away with it for a bit, but anyone who knows their watches will spot it a mile off. I mean, imagine rocking up to a fancy event with a fake Rolex that’s literally falling apart. Mortifying, right?
Look, I’m not judging anyone for wanting a bit of luxury on a budget. But just be realistic. A fake AP is never going to be the same as the real thing. You’re buying an *illusion*, not a watch. And, personally, I’d rather save up and buy something genuine, even if it’s not an Audemars Piguet, than try to fake it. There are some great affordable watch brands out there.
